| At the University
of Minnesota, highly skilled, dedicated investigators spend every day
searching for answers to the medical and public health challenges that
affect all of our lives. These faculty scientists live amongst us (they
could be your neighbor!), working to develop new therapies for the benefit
of all Minnesotans and their families.
We'd like you to meet some of these researchers. They are called Endowed Scholars because they hold coveted endowed positions called chairs or professorship which are typically awarded to top scientists. Endowed chairs are funded with a minimum of $1 million. A professorship is established with a minimum $500,000 gift. These dollars are invested, and a portion of the return is available for innovative, advanced research. To meet an Endowed Scholar, click on a disease-area of interest and select from the listing of researchers who hold an endowed position in that area. Each description tells you how the fund was established, the focus of the research, and some background of the Endowed Scholar. |
